Master Instructor - Bruce Bishop

Bruce first started studying Tang Soo Do Tae Kwon Do at the Mountain Academy of Martial Arts in 1985 under Master John Rankin. In 1988, Bruce earned his first degree black belt, in 1993 his second degree, in 1998 his third degree and in 2001 his fourth degree black belt under Master Rankin. In 2003, Bruce was awarded his Master qualification (5th degree black belt) in Tang Soo Do Tae Kwon Do from the World Academy of Martial Arts. Bruce has a tremendous amount of martial arts teaching experience, he has been teaching Tae Kwon Do in Evergreen and Lakewood since 1987. Bruce also holds a first degree black belt in Hapkido and has studied Aikido. We are fortunate to have Master Bishop continue to teach at Evergreen Martial Arts Academy.

 

Instructor - Matt Emmons

While living in England, Matt studied Shotokan and Shukokai Karate. After moving to Evergreen, Matt studied Tang Soo Do Tae Kwon Do at the Mountain Academy of Martial Arts, first under Master John Rankin and then under Master Bruce Bishop. Matt started teaching at the Mountain Academy of Martial Arts in 2002 and in 2003, earned his first degree black belt under Master Bruce Bishop. In 2004, Matt started studying Jiu Jitsu at the nationally renowned Grappler's Edge Academy. Matt is a qualified track and field coach and has many years of experience coaching a wide variety of sports, experience that has been easily adapted to instructing martial arts.
