Christine Q. Nguyen, L. Ac

In 1999, I found my beginnings in kung fu at a Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis gym in Albuquerque, NM.  There I met my 1st teacher, Sihing Alex Liu, a closed door student of  Sifu Manuel Rodriguez (Ventura, CA).  With Alex Sihing as my primary instructor, I fell in love with Southern Mantis Kung fu.  I felt as if I had found a place where I felt safe, supported and surrounded by classmates that were like family to me.
Eventually, Chow Gar was integrated into my martial arts training.  Because it was difficult to find good quality Chow Gar instruction in the U.S., I and some classmates visited London to study intensively with Sifu Paul Whitrod in 2003.
From 2003-2005, my training emphasis was in Hung Gar Kung Fu with Sifu Francisco Rivera of the Chin Wu Athletic Association.
I moved to Denver, CO in 2005 and could not find any Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu Schools in Colorado.  I learned quickly that the only way I would be able to train was by teaching others. This eventually led me to back to London where I received my Chow Gar instructor level certification from Sifu Paul Whitrod in December of 2006.

Outside of teaching kung fu, I have an alternative medical clinic in Wheat Ridge, CO where I practice Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Craniosacral therapy and Visceral Manipulation therapy.
