Yee Kup Saam Bo Gin

This video shows a segment from a basic Chow Gar Southern Praying Mantis form called Yee Kup Saam Bo Gin ('Three step arrow punch') performed by Sifu Paul Whitrod*. As with many martial arts forms, the purpose of practicing the form is to develop important skills such as power, speed, balance, coordination, breathing and focus. The emphasis in this particular form is to develop 'gen' or 'fa jing' (shock power) that is a distinctive feature of this kung fu style.

Fut Sau

This is a form called Fut Sau, performed by Sigung Ip Chee Keung**. This form also demonstrates the shock power of Chow Gar SPM kung fu.

Saam Bo Gin

Here's a video of Sifu Manuel Rodriguez* performing the Chu Gar Saam Bo Gin form at a demo.

*    Sifu Paul Whitrod and Sifu Manuel Rodriguez are Christine Nguyen's instructors.
Take a look at Sifu Rodriguez' school website - American Shaolin West - for some excellent information about Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis and Shaolin Temple history.
The official Chow Gar Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu website in addition to being a great source of information, contains information about Sifu Paul Whitrod's school in London.

**    Sigung (grandmaster) Ip Chee Keung is Sifu Whitrod's instructor.
