The primary focus of Evergreen Martial Arts Academy’s Jujitsu program is grappling (also described as ground fighting and similar to freestyle wrestling). Traditional Jujitsu covers a huge range of techniques and our curriculum includes joint locks, submission holds, pressure point techniques, throws, takedowns and a small number of striking techniques. Our program also uses many techniques from Brazilian Jujitsu and freestyle wrestling. Each class consists of a warm-up and stretching, followed by drills to practice basic maneuvers, and submission techniques. New techniques are introduced in most classes and a significant amount of class time is dedicated to ‘Randori’ (the Japanese word for free sparring grappling), which is very aerobically demanding. Evergreen Martial Arts Academy’s Jujitsu classes are an excellent way to improve your strength and fitness. Workouts are done shorts or sweat pants and a tee shirt making them more applicable to self-defense and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition. Classes are offered for kids and for adults. Please see the table below for class times.
Evergreen Martial Arts Academy uses a pay-as-you-go plan for tuition fees. That means no contracts! Discounts are available for 3-monthly payments and for multiple family members. The fee schedule is shown in the following table.
